Junior researcher for a dissertation in wood tracing (PhD) (f/m/d)
Our team conducts research within the field of wood composites research and in the digitization of production processes of wood and engineered wood products.
Your work will be focused on research about the traceability of wood along its value chain. Together with partners from industry and science, approaches are developed and evaluated at laboratory scale. The PhD thesis will be supervised at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (Priv. Doz. DI Dr. Michael Grabner).
Your responsibility:
- Conducting research in wood physics and material science with regard to marking technologies and characteristic features of wood
- Evaluate developed approaches for tracing wood in lab scale
- Design, implementation and evaluation of experiments
- Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and at international scientific conferences
Your qualification:

University degree (master’s, diploma), preferably in Wood Science, Material Science, Physics or Engineering

Knowledge about wood anatomy

Experience with data handling (optional)

Good knowledge in spoken and written English
