Dr. Thomas Stelzer (Member/Vice-Governor of Upper Austrian`s Government) visits Wood K plus

Dr. Thomas Stelzer was highly interested in the different innovations of wood- and bio-based materials, which were presented during his visit of the Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH (Wood K plus) at January 22^nd 2016. A lot of examples could show the manifold applications - for example carbon fibres made from cellulosic fibres for composite materials or super-capacitors; interior parts for automotive industry; construction materials, etc.

Wood is one of the less available resources in Austria and therefore it builds a good base for covering big parts of and sometimes the whole supply chain for producing these products. This secures and creates new jobs in Austria and its regions.

During the tour through the laboratories and pilot plant stations Dr. Stelzer could get a good impression about the modern equipment and research methods of Wood K plus. Mr. Boris Hultsch (CEO) und Dr. Andreas Haider (Area Manager) underlined the excellent co-operation culture between science and industry, which is essential in all research projects of Wood K plus and the base for bringing the innovations to industrial relevance.
